BJP district chief accuses Mayor of bias

Local BJP leaders including district president Parveen Bansal visited Zone-D office to meet Mayor Harcharan Singh Gohalwaria but failed to discuss their problems as he was not at office The BJP leaders accused Mayor of bias attitude with BJP leaders and councillors.Parveen Bansal said they have been trying to contact the Mayor to discuss several issues but he is not available for us.“We want to discuss important issues in house meeting of the MC including Gurdwara Dukhniwaran Sahib’s land issue. The gurdwara management committee had bought a nearby house and extended the boundary of Gurdwara. The MC has sent a notice to the committee by claiming possession of a street. The gurdwara is place of worship and we want that MC should leave its claim over land. Moreover, the committee is ready to pay price for the street. Mayor Harcharan Singh Gohlwaria doesn’t want to listen,” said Parveen Bansal.Apart from this, the BJP leader also alleged that the Municipal Corporation is ignoring BJP councillors intentionally.“We have several other important issues which should be discussed in the house meeting but they do not want to listen. We wanted to discuss all the issues with Mayor but he is not available again,” he added.Irked BJP leaders called a meeting late evening to discuss the further strategy to press the MC for their demands.It is worth mentioning here that the MC house meeting would be held tomorrow at Zone D office.
