The Kisan Committee, and Fruit and Vegetable Growers Committee gathered at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) today to discuss their farm problems with the University experts and seek solutions for the same. Dr. Ashok Kumar, Director of Extension Education, PAU, presided over the meet. Dr. S.S. Kukal, Dean, College of Agriculture and Dr. J.S. Mahal, Dean, College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology, PAU, were also present on the occasion. Farmers sought solutions to the problems regarding pesticide use, insect-pest and disease incidence in various crops, crop varieties, marketing, and water crisis. The experts from the Departments of Agronomy, Plant Breeding and Genetics, Plant Pathology, Fruit Science, Vegetable Science, Soil Science, Farm Machinery and Power Engineering, and Economics and Sociology addressed the queries of the farmers.

On the occasion, farmers showed a keen interest in purchasing PAU farm publications. Members of Punjab State Power Corporation, Ludhiana; Cooperative Society, Jalandhar and PAU Kisan Club also attended the meet.
