Ludhiana – Annual Prize Distribution Function was held at Guru Nanak Public School, Sarabha Nagar to felicitate the students who excelled in Scholastics as well as Co-Scholastics. The Chief Guest of the function was Dr. Navjot Kaur Sidhu, Member, Punjab Legislative Assembly, Amritsar East. The programme began with the school choir paying obeisance to the Almighty. The Principal, Mrs. Parvinder Kaur welcomed the Chief Guest, the parents and the dignitaries. The annual report highlighted the outstanding achievements of the young Nankians in myriad fields.
The Chief Guest awarded mementos to students for excellence in academics as well as sports and congratulated them for their prowess and laudable achievements. The members of the staff and the supporting staff who had completed 25 years of dedicated services to the school were honoured. The trophy for ‘Best in Scholastics’ was won by MRS House and the trophy for ‘Best in Co-Scholastics’ was won by BVS House.
The cultural programme started with the budding dancers of the school expressing emotions and love of God through the dance of the soul, Sufi dance. The play ‘The Lost Necklace’ cautioned the viewers against taking hasty decisions and spread the message that happiness lies in satisfaction. This was followed by enchanting folk dances of Rajasthan as well as Punjab. The rich culture and glory of the states was exhibited through the graceful movements, stunning gestures and energetic performances.
The choreography highlighted how the self proclaimed messengers of God exploit the emotional and physical weaknesses of the masses. The meaningful lyrics and the ecstatic music of Qawali, the mellifluous songs and the incredible Orchestra were a treat to all present. The General Secretary, S. Surinder Singh thanked one and all for their whole hearted participation and support.
