Delhi Police assaults Sikh Driver From Gramin Sewa Society


In an incident which went viral policemen in Mukherjee Nagar allegedely thrashed a Gramin sewa driver and his son after his tempo collided with a police vehicle. The Gramin Sewa driver assaulted a police officer with his sword. Following the incident, the policemen took athis to beat up the father-son duo. Both were again beaten up in the lock up. Assistant Sub-inspectors Sanjay Malik and Devendra and Constable Pushpendra were involved in the incident and have been suspended.

Manjindar S. Sirsa (DSGMC, President) wrote, “We have got three police officials suspended for their inhumane behaviour. Rest of them will also meet the same fate. Thanking all who came to protest with us. I have been told @AmitShah Ji has himself ensured action in this regard.”

Ankit Lal wrote on Twitter, “Today afternoon while we were watching #INDvPAK, this is what @DelhiPolice personnel were doing in Mukherjee Nagar to a Gramin Seva driver and helper.”

Arvind Kejriwal wrote, “Delhi Police brutality in Mukherjee Nagar is highly condemnanble and unjustified.

I demand an impartial probe into the whole incident & strict action against the guilty.
Protectors of citizens can’t be allowed to turn into uncontrolled violent mobsters.”

DCP North West New Delhi, “Alleged incident followed an accident caused by a Gramin Sewa tempo to a police vehicle. Thereafter, a police officer was also assaulted on head by the tempo driver with a sword. Further the tempo was driven dangerously and caused injuries to a policeman in the leg.@mssirsa”
