Lock woman in room; decamp with gold, pistol, £200 and Rs 85K cash
A domestic help of a cycle parts factory owner along with four other accomplices looted gold, a weapon and foreign currency from a house in the Dugri area this afternoon.
The miscreants committed the crime after locking the daughter-in-law of the house owner inside the room.
The domestic help who committed the crime was employed by the owner just two weeks ago. The police are facing a tedious task to find the whereabouts of the accused as the house owner has no identification proof of him.
Inspector, Dugri police station, Joginder Singh said the incident happened in the afternoon when the domestic help called four of his accomplices to the house. They forcibly took the daughter-in-law of Sham Lal Gupta, a factory owner, in a room and locked her there.
Later, the miscreants stole a licenced pistol, 200 pounds, Rs 85,000 cash and some other valuables from the almirah. It was only after the owner reached the house, he opened the lock of the room and found her daughter-in-law there.
Sham Lal immediately raised alarm and informed the police.
