Its adoration or veneration of Guru Granth Sahib, many of the current generation raised in a cosmopolitan ambience, cannot understand the text of the Gurbani—literally ‘the words of the Teachers’. So the screens allow the devotees and visitors to follow the words as they are sung with the verses in Gurmukhi along with translations in English, which has helped the devotees to sing along in a sort of karaoke style.
They can now read, understand and join in while the devotional songs are being sung live by the Gurudwara’s choir.
