Husband and family held for abetting suicide of wife and daughter

A mother daughter duo committed suicide in Kerala due to pressure for dowry from the husband’s family. Earlier the family had give unpaid loans as the reason for Vaishnavi (19) and Lekha (43) committing suicide but police found a letter on the wall of the room in which they committed suicide.

The letter pointed towards family members and had signature of both the women. It has been sent for forensic tests while four family members- Chandran, his mother Krishnamma (80), her sister Shanta and husband Kashi were taken into custody.

The note stated that Lekha was repeatedly mentally harassed for dowry and her mother-in-law tried to poison, after this she was taken to a black magician instead of a doctor.
