Lohri Festival celebrated by School Students in Ludhiana

Ludhiana – Spring Dale Sr. Sec. Public School celebrated the festival of Lohri with great enthusiasm and festivity. This Lohri was dedicated to the ‘ daughters’. On this auspicious occasion the management had arranged a gala function and all of them paid obeisance by offering various things to the ‘holy fire’ as per the rituals. They went around the fire and prayed for the betterment of one & all. The students presented a mesmerizing folk dance which set everyone’s feet tapping. Few students also sang various traditional songs highlighting the importance of Lohri. A craft activity was also the main highlight of the day during which the kindergarten students made colorful kites. The tiny tots of kindergarten who came dressed up in Punjabi attire captured the attention of everyone when they danced on the beats of dhol. A movie show highlighting the importance of Lohri was also arranged for the students. All the students were offered groundnuts, popcorns and rewaris.

The worthy Managing Director Mrs. Avinash Kaur Walia wished all the staff and students a very happy and healthy lohri. She also highlighted the importance of celebrating ‘Dhiyan Di Lohri’ and said that girl child should be given equal opportunities and there should be no discrimination between boys and girls as this equality is the key to a prosperous world. She also emphasized the importance of ‘new beginning’ in our life that with every new year we should make some new resolutions and strive hard to achieve our goals.

Honorable Directors Mr. Mandeep Singh and Mrs. Kamalpreet Kaur along with Principal Mr. Anil Kumar Sharma wished everyone a very prosperous Lohri and motivated them to move ahead in life with zeal and enthusiasm.
