3rd February 2019 Sunday evening entire Kolkata got summoned up with crisis and the beauty of the evening got turned into a catastrophe. The Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamta Banerjee took on the roads of Satyagraha and said, “This is a Satyagraha and I’ll continue till the country is saved” The Dharna continued for 3 days.

Mamta Banerjee sat on Dharna to defend the chief of Kolkata Police Rajeev Kumar. This all Dharna was because a team of CBI officials in total 40 reached to the residence of Kolkata Police Commissioner Rajeev Kumar at Loudon Street Kolkata West Bengal on Sunday to question him in the case of chit fund scams. They came to arrest Kumar and were denied permission as there were no legal warrants against him. But, however, CBI chief Minister Nageshwar Rao told there was evidence against Kumar.

The chit fund scam is all about misplacing important evidence, documents, and files. CBI officials believed that Rajeev Kumar led an investigation team of West Bengal police into the case.

Mamta Banerjee day before Sunday took to her twitter account and wrote,

“The highest levels of the BJP leadership are doing the worst kind of political vendetta. Not only are political parties their targets, but they are also misusing power to take control of the police and destroy all institutions. The Kolkata Police Commissioner is among the best in the world. His integrity, bravery, and honesty are unquestioned. He is working 24×7 and was on leave for only one day recently. When you spread lies, the lies will always remain lies.” With Banerjee attacking BJP, other political parties too assembled to support her after the Dharna,

Banerjee said at the time of Dharna that she was getting calls from politicians including former chief minister of Uttar Pradesh Akhilesh Yadav, chief minister of Madhya Pradesh Kamalnath, Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, Lalu Prasad, M Chandrababu Naidu, Gujarat MLA, and Dalit leader Jignesh Mevani. Even President of Congress Rahul Gandhi called up Banerjee and said the entire opposition is together and it will defeat the forces. Now as the situation got critical and difficulties arose CBI took the whole matter to Supreme Court and the case was heard yesterday.

Let’s have a look at what the results came?

Banerjee, however, continued the Dharna on the 2nd day as she said she is not in the support of the members of her party but it is for the government and she desired to save the country as a whole.

was not Mamta Vs CBI but Mamta Vs Modi.

Lastly, Supreme Court Yesterday made clear that no arrest is filed but Rajeev Kumar should make himself available for the discussion regarding the case. Mamta Banerjee believed it a moral victory and ended the Dharna saying she and her party is obliged for the justice.
