Ludhiana – In the recent years the higher education landscape of the country has undergone rapid changes. This has made the students who are at the verge of leaving school feel lost and without purpose if they fail to plan for the future. Laying down a robust career plan is vital to making the transition from school to the real world smooth. So ‘CAREER COUNSELING’ becomes imperative. Sacred Heart Senior Secondary School, B.R.S Nagar, Ludhiana organized a Career Counselling Session for Parents of classes IX-XI from 30th October to 1st November, 2108. The resource person Ms. Shamina Deol, the school counselor clarified the myths and misconceptions associated with career counseling. She enlightened the parents that Career counselling means helping the student in knowing himself and making him capable of decision making in the area of career choice.

Ms. Deol added that it is the duty of the schools to safeguard the interests of the students by providing the right kind of career counselling to the parents and the students, which is a regular feature of Sacred Heart Sr. Sec. School. She also guided the parents on how to handle the emotions of a child to help them become mentally healthy, happy and able to realize their full potential.

The response of the parents was indeed overwhelming and they applauded the efforts of the school for equipping them with the knowledge of the scientific process of choosing careers and courses and providing unbiased and authentic career information.
