Ludhiana –To prevent excessive use of power for agricultural needs in the state, Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA) has started a scheme of Solar Pumps in the villages, which will be very beneficial for farmers.
While giving information, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Dev.) Dr. Shena Aggarwal urged the farmers to get maximum benefit of solar pump scheme. Farmers can fill online application at PEDA’s website www.peda.gov.in and submit it in hard directly to the head office till October 15.
Dr. Aggarwal said that Peda has aimed to install 2700 solar pumps in the state this year. The cost of 3 HP to 5 HP solar pumps is between rs. 48000/- to rs. 75000/-. 3 acres of agricultural land is mandatory to get installed a solar pump. Preference will be given to poly houses.
