Program on Neurosciences organized by Indian Medical Association in Ludhiana

Indian Medical Association of Clinical Medicine, Ludhiana Chapter organized a CME on Neurosciences at Ludhiana. According to Dr. Vikas Loomba, General Secretary of the Association more than 70 doctors participated in it. Speaking at the CME, Dr. Vikas emphasized on the need for regular CME’s & gave an overview of the activities of the association. IACM has been conducting monthly CME’s on various topics of clinical relevance. This month two burning topics in the field of neurosciences were discussed.

Dr. Sawan Verma spoke on “Women with Epilepsy” & covered various social and medical issues related to epilepsy among women. Dr. Harman Sobti, Consultant Neurosurgeon at Sobti Neuro & Super Specialty Hospital, Ludhiana shared his experiences on the latest interventions in the field of neurosurgery. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Harman Sobti discussed about various brain tumors & spine problems and their treatment using microscope and endoscope. Dr. Harman has been doing these procedures regularly with very good results with the advent of micro neurosurgery & the outcome has become very favorable. The patients can be discharged earlier and with less expenditure.

Dr MK Sobti Member PUNJAB medical council attended the conference as a PMC observer He stressed upon the doctor to do ethical practice. He informed that the Doctors above 60 yrs of age don’t require credit hours for renewal of their registration but if they have to practice in PUNJAB they must renew their registration.
