Drugs in Punjab

Youth is not consuming drugs, but drugs are consuming this young generation. Another case of a drug overdose and then death came into limelight when a 25-year-old man, identified as Pirthi Singh, died yesterday. According to the reports, the deceased was living in Mahabadhar Tehsil of Sri Muktsar Sahib, Punjab, where he was working in a cutting factory.

As per the sources, the deceased was under the influence of drugs on Monday evening when one of the villagers dropped him home. Finding him in a worsening state, his family members took him to the nearest government hospital where he took his last breath. Blaming the villagers, the family reported an FIR stating that Pirthi was not a drug addict. His mother in law said “My son-in-law didn’t take drugs but one of the villagers injected drugs which took his life. We want justice for our son who died at such a young age.”

The police have filed the case and have started the investigation over the case. However, the body is still in the hospital going for post-mortem only then anything can be revealed.
