Unemployment hits hard! A software engineer, identified as Sumit Kumar, accused of killing his wife and three children after giving them sleeping pills. Residing in Indirapuram, Ghaziabad, he murdered his family members late at night and then uploaded the video in a family group on Whatsapp.
According to the information, Kumar purchased potassium cyanide to commit suicide about which he informed his family on Whatsapp, but later on, he brutally killed his wife and children while they were sleeping. Upon seeing the video, Kumar’s sister immediately informed Pankaj, his brother-in-law, who stays near Indirapuram, who rushed to the flat but couldn’t find Sumit at the flat. Deceased identified as wife Anshu Bala (32), elder son Prathmesh (5), and twins Aarav and Aakriti (4), were found lying on the floor. It was found that Sumit killed his children by cutting their throats and murdered his wife by stabbing her multiple times in the stomach and chest.
Saddened by death, Pankaj informed the police that his brother-in-law was working in an IT company in Bangalore which he resigned in December 2018 and was unemployed since then. Feeling depressed due to financial issues in the family, Sumit had many fights with his wife (who was a teacher) and was mentally unstable since four months. In his confession video, Sumit shared the details of murder saying he mixed sedatives in his family’s drinks and then killed them with a knife. He even sat with the dead bodies for an hour or two but then he ran away from the location. His phone is switched off since then and police are constantly searching for his where-about.
Bodies are sent for postmortem, statement of guard and neighbours has been recorded and the police are actively searching for Sumit Kumar. The case is booked under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code.
