Principal exonerated, four schoolteachers who beat up student absconding
Almost a month after a 13-year-old student of DAV Public School on the Pakhowal road attempted to commit suicide by jumping from the fifth floor of the school building allegedly after he was thrashed by his teachers, the Ludhiana police, in its inquiry report today, exonerated the school principal from charges and declared her not guilty. Four other teachers booked in the case have been declared absconding and raids are being conducted to nab them.
An FIR was lodged under sections 323, 325, 341, 506, 32 and 84 of the IPC against Principal Satwant Kaur Bhullar and teachers namely Jatinder Kaur, Naveen, Gopal and Rajeev of DAV Public School, Pakhowal road, for allegedly thrashing the student. He is still in the ICU of DMC Hospital.
His parent, along with the parents of other students, had staged a protest outside the school.
