Ludhiana – The school premises resonated with exuberance as the Senior wing students of BCM School Basant Avenue, Dugri celebrated the monsoon festival of Teej with great fervor. The occasion became all the more scintillating with the presence of esteemed Guests like Mrs. And Mr. S. K. Mehta, School Manager who appreciated the vibacious performances and reminisced their childhood. Girls walked down the ramp in their traditional finery, did kikli and recited folk songs spreading happiness all around.
Vibrant performances of ‘Giddha’, ‘Bhangra’, enchanting designs of mehndi and delightful feast of ‘ghevar’ added colours to the celebration. Harmanpreet Kaur from class IX was crowned the ‘Teej Queen’. A perfect ambience was created with students performing merily to the tunes of traditional songs. Speaking on the occasion, the school principal Dr Vandna Shahi gave her best wishes to the students and told them to preserve the world wide unique and affluent Punjabi culture.
